GitHub
Look up the GitHub connector: its actions and events in alphabetical order, and the sign-in methods of a GitHub connection.
The GitHub connector lets a workflow manage repositories, issues, pull requests, and branches. In the Add node panel, it's in the Connector category, under GitHub. How connector nodes work describes how a connector node is set up.
This page lists what the connector can do in Maestro Automate. Select an action or event to see how to configure it.
Actions
Each action is a node that does one thing in GitHub.
| Action | What it does |
|---|---|
| Create Branch | Create a new branch from an existing repository in GitHub. |
| Create Issue | Create a new issue in a GitHub repository. |
| Create Issue Comment | Create a comment on an issue in a GitHub repository. |
| Create Pull Request | Create a pull request in GitHub. |
| Create Repository | Create a new repository in GitHub. |
| Delete Record | Deletes a record in GitHub. |
| Download File | Download a file from a GitHub repository. |
| Get Record | Retrieves a record in GitHub. |
| Insert Record | Insert a new record in GitHub. |
| List All Branches | Retrieve a list of all branches in a GitHub repository. |
| List Records | List records in GitHub. |
| Merge Pull Request | Merge a pull request in GitHub. |
| Replace Record | Replace a record in GitHub. |
| Search Issues and Pull Requests | Search for issues or pull requests in GitHub. |
| Search Repositories | Search for repositories in GitHub. |
| Update Issue | Modify existing issues in GitHub repositories. |
| Update Record | Updates a record in GitHub. |
Events
Each event can start a workflow, as a Connector trigger, or pause a run until it happens, as a Connector event. In the connector's list, events have the WAIT tag.
| Event | What it does |
|---|---|
| Issue Closed | Trigger actions when an issue is closed in GitHub. |
| Issue Created | Trigger automation when a new issue is created in GitHub. |
| Pull Request Created | Trigger automation when a new pull request is created in GitHub. |
| Pull Request Merged | Trigger actions when a pull request is merged in GitHub. |
| Pull Request Updated | Trigger actions when a pull request is updated in GitHub. |
| Record Created | Triggers when you add a new record. |
| Record Updated | Triggers when an existing record was updated. |
| Repository Created | Trigger automation when a new repository is created in GitHub. |
Connection
A GitHub node signs in through a connection. Create a connection describes how to create one from the node. On the Connect to page, choose one of these sign-in methods:
| Sign-in method | What you need |
|---|---|
| OAuth 2.0 Authorization code | Organization, Account type, and the username and password associated with your GitHub account. |
| Bring your own OAuth 2.0 app | Client ID, Client secret, Organization, Account type. |
GitHub authentication in the Integration Service guide describes the full connection setup, including prerequisites and advanced settings.
