Licensing model for ScreenPlay as a UIAutomation add-on, covering the Add-On entitlement and per-run consumption in Agent Units or Platform Units.
ScreenPlay is available as an add-on to UiPath’s UIAutomation offerings. Its pricing model is designed to encourage adoption, minimize friction for experimentation, and allow flexible scaling as customers expand their AI-powered automation workloads.
Overview
ScreenPlay extends UiPath’s core UIAutomation capabilities with AI-powered understanding and interaction. Because ScreenPlay leverages large language models (LLMs), the pricing model balances affordability with transparency, including a generous bundled allowance, pay-per-use flexibility, and free trial and BYOM (Bring Your Own Model) options.
ScreenPlay pricing principles
ScreenPlay pricing is based on four key principles that support adoption and simplicity, as follows:
| Principle | Description |
|---|---|
| Encourage consumption | Adoption is prioritized through low margins over cost and free usage for BYOM (Bring Your Own Model). |
| Easy to trial | ScreenPlay is available through a self-serve free trial, allowing immediate access without sales assistance. |
| No need to size upfront | Sufficient usage is bundled in the Add-On so customers can start before estimating consumption precisely. |
| General Availability | Available for all enterprise tiers and Community, with limited but meaningful access for experimentation. |
ScreenPlay Add-On
To access ScreenPlay, you must have a ScreenPlay Add-On entitlement. There are two ways to obtain this entitlement:
- You are already entitled – Customers on the Advanced and Enterprise tiers automatically have access to the ScreenPlay Add-On as part of their plan. This entitlement provides 50,000 runs per year when using only Standard models. When using Basic models, the entitlement provides four times more runs.
- You acquire the entitlement – Customers on other tiers can purchase the ScreenPlay Add-On, which grants access to ScreenPlay along with a yearly bundled capacity under the same consumption model.
The following tables offer an overview on Platform Tiering for Flex and Unified Pricing licenses.
Flex - Platform access
| Platform features | No platform | Standard | Advanced |
|---|---|---|---|
| Access to ScreenPlay | ✅(contingent on ScreenPlay purchase) | ✅(contingent on ScreenPlay purchase) | ✅includes Screenplay Add-On (inclusive of 50k runs) |
| Governance of ScreenPlay | ✅(contingent on ScreenPlay purchase) | ✅(contingent on ScreenPlay purchase) | ✅ |
Unified Pricing - Platform access
| Platform features | Basic | Standard | Enterprise |
|---|---|---|---|
| Access to ScreenPlay | ❌ | ✅(contingent on ScreenPlay purchase) | ✅includes Screenplay Add-On (inclusive of 50k runs) |
| Governance of ScreenPlay | ❌ | ✅(contingent on ScreenPlay purchase) | ✅ |
| Access to App Test ScreenPlay (Test Cloud) | ❌ | ✅ contingent on App Test ScreenPlay add-on purchase (inclusive of 50,000 runs) | ✅ included (inclusive of 50,000 runs) |
| Governance of App Test ScreenPlay (Test Cloud) | ❌ | ✅ contingent on App Test ScreenPlay add-on purchase | ✅ |
App Test ScreenPlay Add-On (Test Cloud)
If you use ScreenPlay within Test Cloud application testing workflows, access is granted through the App Test ScreenPlay Add-On, which is a separate entitlement specific to the Test Cloud platform.
The in-product ScreenPlay experience is identical to the standard ScreenPlay Add-On. The difference is commercial: App Test ScreenPlay is purchased and tracked under the Test Cloud licensing model.
Availability by plan
| Free | Application Testing Standard Trial | Application Testing Standard | Application Testing Enterprise |
|---|---|---|---|
| ❌ | ❌ | ✅ Available as a paid add-on (50,000 runs / year) | ✅ Included (50,000 runs / year) |
Key details:
- Grants access to ScreenPlay and 50,000 bundled ScreenPlay runs per year.
- Supports the same Bring Your Own Model (BYOM) and BYOS enablement as the standard Add-On. BYOM and BYOS usage does not consume runs, but the add-on is still required for access.
- Overage beyond 50,000 runs is charged in increments of 5 UI actions per run, consuming App Test Platform Units.
- If a customer holds both the App Test ScreenPlay Add-On and the standard ScreenPlay Add-On, the bundled runs from both are pooled together as part of the same ScreenPlay service entitlement.
App Test ScreenPlay is specific to Test Cloud. Standard ScreenPlay Add-On entitlements remain unchanged for Automation Cloud customers.
Consumption-based pricing
After the 50,000 included runs are used with Standard models or four times that amount with Basic models, ScreenPlay continues under consumption-based pricing. This pay-as-you-go model ensures customers only pay for what they execute, without upfront sizing requirements.
The following table describes the model tiers and their costs in Agent Units and Platform Units per run.
| Model tier | Flex (Agent Units) | Unified Pricing (Platform Units) | Included models |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard models | 1 Agent Unit / run | 0.20 Platform Units / run | High-capability models such as GPT - 5 + DOM, GPT - 4.1 + DOM |
| Basic models | 0.25 Agent Units / run | 0.05 Platform Units / run | Lightweight, faster models such as GPT - 5 Mini + DOM, Gemini 2.5 Flash + DOM |
Each run includes up to five UI actions, billed in increments of five, as described in the following examples:
- 1 run = 1–5 UI actions;
- 2 runs = 6–10 UI actions;
- 3 runs = 11–15 UI actions.
As a fallback behavior, when the bundled UI actions are exhausted, ScreenPlay automatically continues using Agent Units or Platform Units so automations can run without interruption.
Bring your own model
If you bring your own model (BYOM), you are not charged for ScreenPlay usage. Once you have the ScreenPlay Add-On entitlement, you can use the capability without limits when connecting your own model.
ScreenPlay licensing and entitlements
ScreenPlay follows UiPath’s no-premium-activity principle, meaning that all eligible users can access it once the Add-On is enabled. It is supported in Studio, Studio Web, and runtime environments under both Flex and Unified Pricing (Uni) licensing.
The following table describes user access when using a Flex User license.
| Flex User license | Unlicensed User | Express User | Action Center User | Attended User | Cloud Basic User | Citizen Developer | Automation Developer | PM Business User | Tester User | |

AI and Agentic usage pool
All Enterprise licensed users receive a monthly AI and Agentic usage pool, shared across UiPath AI and Agentic products and usable for ScreenPlay development and testing.
When you use the pool for ScreenPlay development, usage is drawn down based on the cost of the model you use and the complexity of the ScreenPlay runs you execute. You see your usage as a single percentage of the monthly limit, together with the date it resets.
For details on how the monthly limit, top-ups, and paid-unit fallback work, refer to AI and Agentic usage pool.
The AI and Agentic usage pool is available on the Unified Pricing and Flex licensing plans, and is not available on Community. Community organizations keep the monthly ScreenPlay entitlement described in Community. Feature availability also depends on the cloud platform that you use; for details, refer to the Feature availability page.
The ScreenPlay Add-On is still required to access ScreenPlay. The usage pool changes how design-time usage is measured. It does not replace the Add-On or the bundled runs that the Add-On includes.
Bring your own model is unaffected by the usage pool. BYOM usage remains free of charge, as described in Bring your own model.
When the monthly limit and any top-up are spent, ScreenPlay continues by drawing from paid units: Agent Units on Flex, or Platform Units on Unified Pricing.
The following table describes the monthly limit per Flex User license.
| User license | Monthly limit |
|---|---|
| Unlicensed User | No monthly limit; consumes from the bundle or units pool |
| Express User | No monthly limit; consumes from the bundle or units pool |
