Backup and restore
In this topic you will learn how to back up and restore Test Manager for scenarios such as migrating to new environments, recovery and other use cases.
Prerequisites
Before taking any steps towards Test Manager migration, make sure that both Orchestrator and Identity Server have been backed up and restored to your new environment. When you restore Orchestrator, select Test Automation during the setup.
Both Orchestrator and Test Manager can only be restored to the same version from which the backup was taken. For example, if you want to perform a migration for Orchestrator and Test Manager version 2021.4.x, you need to install the same product version in your new environment. Upgrade is possible only after the migration is completed.
Backup
You will need to back up the following Test Manager components:
- Test Manager Database
- Test Manager config file (appsettings.production.json)
- Test Manager storage location
Test Manager Database
To back up Test Manager Database consider the backup policies used in your enterprise. You can find backup information that is relevant to this scenario in Backup and Restore.
Test Manager config file
Test Manager configuration settings are defined in the appsettings.production.json file. You can find the file in C:\Program Files (x86)\UiPath\Test Manager\.
Test Manager storage location
To find out the storage location of your Test Manager files, you need to check the Storage section in the appsettings.production.json file.
