UiPath Cloud Platform

Account Level Roles

There are 3 roles available for the users at account level:

  • Account Owner - The person who initially signed up for the UiPath Cloud Platform account. This role grants permissions to every account or service level feature. There can be only one account owner. The account owner cannot be changed and the user with this role cannot be deleted.
  • Account Administrator - This role grants access to all account level features. A user with this role can perform all administrative actions at account level, like creating or updating services, requesting or renewing licenses, managing users, viewing audit logs and so on. There can be multiple users with this role.
  • User - This is the default role assigned to people invited to join the account. Unless edited by account owners or account administrators, this role grants read-only access to just a few functionalities, such as Resource Center, Licenses, Users or Services. Account Owners or Account Administrators must add Users to a service in order to grant them full access to that service.

See here a mapping between some of the most common user actions and the default roles in Cloud Platform:

Note:

Account Administrator and User roles don't grant access by default to any of the account's services. You must be added to a service in order to access it. As an Account Administrator or Account Owner, you can grant yourself access to services, but the User role does not permit that.

You are granted access by default to all the service created by you (as Account Owner or Account Administrator). If others need access to a service, remember to add them.

Service Level Roles

Roles are specific for every service and you can view them directly within that service's Roles page.

There is only one default role available for the users at service level:

  • Administrator - A user with this role can access a specific service and can perform administration actions associated with that service, such as managing machines, robots, processes, jobs, packages, queues, environments, schedules and so on. Find more details on the Administrator's rights at Orchestrator level here.

Note:

Your Orchestrator is on Cloud Platform, therefor you have only View rights corresponding to Licenses and Users at service level.

Users with Administrator role can create additional roles within a service if needed. If you add new roles in an Orchestrator service, they are reflected in your Cloud Platform account, in the corresponding Services page, when adding a user.
