# Post-installation steps

> Complete post-installation configuration for standalone Test Manager, including license allocation and assigning user access.

## Allocate licenses

Test Manager requires:

* A **Platform** license, to enable the Test Manager service for your organization.
* A **Tester - Named User** license (or an **Automation Developer - Named User** license, which includes Tester - Named User functionality) for each user who creates, manages, or manually executes test cases.

A [Testing Runtime](https://docs.uipath.com/overview/other/latest/overview/service-licensing#runtimes-(robot-licenses)) license is only required to execute automated tests through Test Manager. It is not required for manual testing or test case management.

For more information on adding licenses, see [Managing your license from the Tenants page](https://docs.uipath.com/orchestrator/standalone/2025.10/user-guide/managing-your-licenses#from-the-tenants-page).

For a comprehensive view of licensing, see the On-Premises Plan tab in [UiPath Licensing](https://licensing.uipath.com/).

## Authenticate into your Test Manager account

To authenticate into your Test Manager account based on your type of tenancy, see [Integrating your tool with Test Manager](https://docs.uipath.com/test-manager/standalone/2025.10/user-guide/integrating-your-tool-with-test-manager).

To access Test Manager, users need to be invited and be assigned a role by their Administrator. For more information on access management and user roles, refer to the [Managing user and groups](https://docs.uipath.com/test-manager/standalone/2025.10/user-guide/managing-users-and-groups) section of the documentation.

For steps to assign a user to Test Manager, see [Assign users to Test Manager](https://docs.uipath.com/test-manager/standalone/2025.10/user-guide/flex-licensing-test-manager#assign-users-to-test-manager).

Users can be invited with or without a **Tester - Named User** license:
* Users without a **Tester - Named User** license can explore Test Manager projects where they hold the Viewer role.
* Users with a **Tester - Named User** license can perform actions and operations in Test Manager as per their role.

:::note
On MSI Orchestrators, Tester - Named User licenses are not displayed in Orchestrator. No license assignment in Orchestrator is required to invite users to Test Manager.
