### Field-level encryption

Data Fabric now supports field-level encryption. This allows you to encrypt sensitive data by either using UiPath®-managed keys, or Customer-Managed Keys (CMK), supporting compliance with enterprise security, and regulatory standards.

You can encrypt local fields in a Data Fabric entity by enabling the **Encrypt Data** checkbox in the **Advanced options** panel of a **Text**, or **Multi-line Text** field.

* Encryption is currently available only for **Text** and **Multi-line Text** local fields.
* If you decide to use filed-level encryption, the **Sort** option becomes unavailable for the fields you encrypt. The following filter options remain available: **Contains**, **Not contains**, **Equal**, **Not equal**, **Null**, **Not null**).
* You cannot edit an already encrypted field.
* You cannot change fields from non-encrypted to encrypted.
* Encrypted fields might cause performance issues when retrieving data in activities and APIs.
