# Update channels

> How the UiPath Platform Installer's Community, Enterprise STS, and Enterprise LTS channels work, and the installer that corresponds to each.

The UiPath Platform Installer delivers updates to the UiPath desktop clients through **channels**. A channel determines how frequently the clients are updated and how long a version line is supported. Choosing a channel is the main decision when planning a rollout.

## Available channels

- **Community** — the community channel.
- **Enterprise — Short-Term Support (STS)** — receives the latest features on a frequent cadence.
- **Enterprise — Long-Term Support (LTS)** — stays on a stable line that receives patch updates only, identified by a version line such as 25.10 or 26.10.

Short-Term Support and Long-Term Support are available only for the Enterprise edition; Community is its own channel.

## Installer per channel

For convenience, each channel has a dedicated installer that pre-selects it at installation time:

| Installer | Channel |
|---|---|
| `UiPathPlatform` | Community |
| `UiPathPlatformSTS` | Enterprise STS |
| `UiPathPlatformLTS-25.10` | Enterprise LTS (25.10 line) |
| `UiPathPlatformLTS-26.10` | Enterprise LTS (26.10 line) |

Using a specific installer is only a convenience for setting the initial channel. The channel can be changed after installation, and the installer updates itself as the desktop clients are updated.

## Long-Term Support lines

Each LTS channel follows a versioned line — for example, 25.10 and 26.10 — and receives patch updates within that line rather than new feature releases. A separate installer is provided per line so that machines can be placed directly on the intended long-term-support version.

:::note
The STS channel is generally available and is covered by this documentation.
