# Updating prompts

> Update the description, mode of use, or instructions of a predefined or custom prompt in the prompt library.

Update a predefined or custom prompt.

## Prerequisites

* Your Test Manager role has the **Autopilot Prompt** permission set to **Update**.

## Steps

1. Select the name of the desired prompt.
2. Start changing the **Description**, **Mode of use**, or **Prompt**.
3. Select **Save** to confirm changes.

## Result

The prompt is updated with the changes you made to its description, mode of use, or instructions.
