# Supported accessibility standards

> Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 checks covered by accessibility testing, such as contrast ratio, ALT tags, tab order, and ARIA roles.

Accessibility testing automates the process of checking web applications (direct URLs) for compliance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 standard (or higher), with emphasis on levels A and AA.

Users can add text-based prompts to define business, user experience (UX), or accessibility rules (“Ensure all call-to-action (CTA) buttons use alt text aligned with brand tone.”).

Accessibility testing covers, but is not limited to the following checks:

* Document Object Model (DOM) and visual accessibility analysis.
* Contrast ratio checks.
* Missing `ALT` tag detection.
* Tab order verification.
* Improper `ARIA` role checks.
* Highlighting of problem UI areas on screen using overlays or bounding boxes.
