# Managing user and group access

> How users and groups gain access to your testing projects and which actions their roles permit.

Control who can open your testing projects and what they can do there, through tenant roles, project roles, and project assignments.

## Context

If you have a legacy project, you might need to [enable access management](https://docs.uipath.com/test-manager/automation-cloud/latest/user-guide/enabling-access-management) to start assigning users and groups to your project.

## Prerequisites

* The Test Manager service is enabled in the tenant where you want to use it, and licenses are allocated to your users. For more information, see [Enabling Test Manager for your tenant](https://docs.uipath.com/test-manager/automation-cloud/latest/user-guide/enabling-test-manager-for-your-tenant).
