# Enabling or disabling governance in bulk for test cases

> Set the governance state for multiple test cases at once in Test Manager instead of toggling Governed individually on each object.

You can set the governance state for multiple test cases at once, instead of toggling **Governed** individually on each object.

## Prerequisites

To enable testing process governance, you must hold the **Test Manager Administrator** role, the **Test Governance Administrator** role, the **Project Owner** role, or be assigned the **Test Process Governance** permission.

## Steps

1. Go to **Test Cases**.
2. Select the checkboxes for the test cases you want to update.
3. Select **Update**.
4. In the **Update labels and custom fields** panel, select the **Governance** tab.
5. Under **Set governance state**, select **Governed** or **Not governed**.

If your selection is a mix of governed and not-governed test cases, choosing **Governed** governs every selected test case, and choosing **Not governed** un-governs every selected test case.

For new, governed test cases, the signatories configured under **Project Settings > Governance > Default Approvers** are carried over automatically. See [Enabling governance at project level](https://docs.uipath.com/test-manager/automation-cloud/latest/user-guide/enabling-governance-at-project-level).

This bulk action is available for test cases only. Test case logs cannot be selected or updated using the method described in this topic.

## Result

The governance state of all selected test cases is updated in a single action, and newly governed test cases receive the project's default approvers.
