## Configure tenant consumption enforcement

Configure whether services stop consuming units when they reach the units allocated to a specific tenant. This setting is configured independently per tenant and per service.

## Prerequisites

- You have the Org Admin role or Tenant Admin role at the organization level.
- The tenant you want to configure has units allocated to it.
- The target tenant must be active. The **Configure allocation enforcement** icon (gear icon) is disabled for disabled and deleted tenants.
- You have reviewed the [default enforcement behavior](about-tenant-consumption-enforcement.md#default-behavior) for your organization type, particularly if any tenants have existing overconsumption.

## Enable enforcement for a tenant

1. Go to **Admin** at the organization level and select **Licenses**.
2. Select the **Consumables** tab.
3. On the unit type card for which you want to configure enforcement, select **View Usage** or **View Usage (Preview)**.

   The following image shows how the **Configure allocation enforcement** icon (gear icon) appears in the tenant table after selecting **View Usage** from the Consumables tab.

4. In the tenant table, locate the tenant row and select the **Configure allocation enforcement** icon (gear icon).

   The **Allocation enforcement** dialog opens.

   :::warning
   Changing the allocation enforcement setting has direct impact on your production processes. Review any possible cross-service dependencies before making changes.
   :::

5. Under **Stop consumption at 100% for**, select the checkbox for each service where you want to stop consumption at the tenant limit.

   :::note
   Some services, such as Maestro and Gen AI activities, appear unavailable in the dialog. Enforcement is not yet supported for these services — they always continue consuming from the organization pool regardless of this setting.
   :::

6. Select **Save**.

**Result:** The services with enforcement enabled stop consuming units for that tenant once the allocated amount is reached. The exact behavior at the limit depends on the service — for details, see [Per-service behavior at the enforcement boundary](about-tenant-consumption-enforcement.md#per-service-behavior-at-the-enforcement-boundary).

## Disable enforcement for a tenant

1. Go to **Admin** at the organization level and select **Licenses**.
2. Select the **Consumables** tab.
3. On the unit type card, select **View Usage** or **View Usage (Preview)**.
4. In the tenant table, locate the tenant row and select the **Configure allocation enforcement** icon (gear icon).
5. In the **Allocation enforcement** dialog, clear the checkbox for each service where you want to allow overconsumption past the tenant limit.
6. Select **Save**.

**Result:** The selected services may consume units past the tenant's allocated amount, drawing from the organization-level pool. Consumption notifications continue to be sent at 50%, 75%, and 90% thresholds.

## Configure enforcement for multiple tenants

Enforcement is configured independently for each tenant and each service. There is no bulk configuration option — repeat the steps above for each tenant where you want to change the enforcement behavior.

## View current enforcement status

1. Go to **Admin** at the organization level and select **Licenses**.
2. Select the **Consumables** tab.
3. On the unit type card, select **View Usage** or **View Usage (Preview)**.
4. In the tenant table, select the **Configure allocation enforcement** icon (gear icon) on any tenant row.

**Result:** The **Allocation enforcement** dialog shows the current checkbox state for each service on that tenant.
