# Cloud robots overview

Cloud robots are UiPath-managed execution hosts that run processes without requiring you to provision or maintain on-premises infrastructure. UiPath handles all the work behind the scenes — you configure your automations in Orchestrator and run jobs, while UiPath manages the underlying compute resources.

## Cloud robot types

UiPath offers three cloud robot types. The table below compares types by infrastructure ownership model and workload fit.

**Managed vs. customer-owned infrastructure:**
* **UiPath-managed** — Automation Cloud Robots (VM and Serverless)
* **Customer-owned** — Elastic Robot Orchestration in your cloud account
