What’s New

:1234: Expressions General Availability

We are very excited to announce that expressions is now in General Availability.
Expressions are comprised of several operations allowing you to transform, modify, and compute the data within an app in order to return an output result.
Expressions are now enabled by default for apps and cannot be switched off.
For more information, see About Expressions.
For more information on how to use expressions, see Using Expression.

:open-file-folder: File Picker Control

We are very excited to announce the addition of the File Picker control. The file picker control feature allows you to upload a file into Orchestrator data storage (storage bucket) and use it in the automation process. You can also download a file from Orchestrator data storage or bind an image file from Orchestrator data storage to an image control in your app.
For more information, see:

For more information on how to use the file picker control, see Including File Control in Apps.

:heavy-plus-sign: Sum of a column function

You can now use the Sum function to return the sum of a specific column in a table or custom list control.
For more information, see:

:heavy-plus-sign: Master Detail View

You can use the Master Detail View to reference information from the row of a table or a custom list without creating a variable.
For more information, see Using Master Detail View.

Improvements

↗️ Performance improvement

This release brings performance improvements for App Studio.

❗ Errors in nested rules

You can now easily figure out the number of errors within nested rules by checking the notification number next to the rule.

❗ Errors in real time

You can now check errors in real time as they show up, instead of validating the entire app while previewing or publishing.

🖥️ Design alignment

We aligned the App Studio design with the rest of the UiPath Platform to have the same look and feel.

Known Issues

  • When adding custom arguments in the process details page, make sure to first refresh the browser and then add the arguments by pressing the :heavy-plus-sign: sign. If you do not refresh the browser first, the newly added arguments will not be displayed in the resource panel for binding. For more information on this, see Apps Troubleshooting and FAQs.
