> Run UiPath Studio natively on macOS with Apple silicon, including requirements, installation, supported project types, and known limitations of the Public Preview.

:::important
Studio on macOS is in Public Preview. Preview features are not recommended for production use.
:::

Studio runs natively on Macs with Apple silicon. You can design, run, and debug cross-platform automations on your Mac, and publish them to Orchestrator.

## Requirements

- A Mac with Apple silicon (M1 or later). Intel-based Macs are not supported.
- macOS 14 Sonoma or later.
- At least 8 GB of free disk space.

## Install Studio

Download the macOS installer package from the Resource Center in UiPath Automation Cloud. It installs Studio together with UiPath Assistant, which Studio needs to sign in and to run automations. For the steps, refer to [Install on macOS](https://docs.uipath.com/uipath-platform-installer/standalone/latest/user-guide/install-on-macos) in the UiPath Platform Installer guide.

The first time you indicate a UI element, macOS asks you to grant permissions to **UiPath UIAutomation**. Turn on the permissions in **System Settings > Privacy & Security**, and then indicate the element again. For details, refer to [Grant macOS permissions](https://docs.uipath.com/uipath-platform-installer/standalone/latest/user-guide/install-on-macos#grant-macos-permissions).

## Supported projects

On macOS, you can create and open only cross-platform projects. Windows and Windows - Legacy projects cannot be opened.

## Keyboard shortcuts

Studio uses the macOS menu bar and the Command (⌘) key instead of Ctrl. These shortcuts are different from Windows:

| Action | Shortcut |
|---|---|
| Debug | ⌘R |
| Run | ⌃⌘R |
| Debug File | ⌥⌘R |
| Run File | ⌃⌥⌘R |
| Stop | ⌘. |
| Command palette | ⇧⌘P |
| Go to file | ⌘P |
| Manage Packages | ⌃⌘P |
| Close document | ⌘W |
| Studio Documentation | ⇧⌘/ |

## Known limitations

While in Public Preview, Studio on macOS has the following limitations:

- UI Automation requires `UiPath.UIAutomation.Activities` version 26.10 or later.
- **Tools > UiPath Extensions** offers only the Chrome, Edge, and Safari extensions.
- The **Excel Add-in**, **SAP Solution Manager** plugin, and **Repair Tool for Microsoft Office** are not available.
- Only Git source control is supported. TFS and SVN are not available.
- Automatically generating test data variations is not available.
- Screen reader support is limited.
