# Keyboard shortcuts settings

> Local and global keyboard shortcuts for Delegate and Cartographer, and how to customize them.

Customize keyboard shortcuts used throughout the application.

## Local shortcuts

Active only while the app is focused.

| Action | Shortcut | Description |
|--------|----------|-------------|
| **New task** | `Ctrl+N` | Start a new task |
| **Search** | `Ctrl+K` | Open spotlight search |
| **Settings** | `Ctrl+,` | Open settings |
| **Restart app** | Not set by default | Restart the application |

## Global shortcuts

Active system-wide, even when the app is in the background.

| Action | Shortcut | Description |
|--------|----------|-------------|
| **Stop response** | `Ctrl+Shift+C` | Stop the current chat response |
| **Send screenshot to Delegate** | `Ctrl+Shift+Y` | Capture according to the General screenshot shortcut setting and attach it to the chat input |

## Customizing shortcuts

To customize a keyboard shortcut, take the following steps:

1. Go to **Settings** → **Keyboard shortcuts**.
2. Find the action to modify.
3. Select the edit icon next to the shortcut.
4. Press your desired key combination.
5. Save the change.

## Avoiding conflicts

If your chosen shortcut conflicts with a system or application shortcut, it may not work reliably. Use combinations with `Ctrl+Shift` to minimize conflicts.
