# Update Candidate

Update an existing candidate for a job.

## Configuration

* **Connection** - The connection established in Integration Service. Access the dropdown menu to choose, add, or manage connections.
* Select **Switch to object view** to explore and map your data using the [Data Mapping editor](https://docs.uipath.com/studio-web/automation-cloud/latest/user-guide/configuring-activities#data-mapping-editor).
* **Candidate ID** - The ID of the candidate. This field supports `String` type input.
* **First name** - The first name of the candidate. This field supports `String` type input.
* **Last name** - The last name of the candidate. This field supports `String` type input.
* **Email** - The email address of the candidate. This field supports `String` type input.
* **Phone** - The phone number of the candidate. This field supports `String` type input.
* **Cover letter** - The candidate's cover letter. This field supports `String` type input.
* **Resume** - Click to use a variable. This field supports `IResource` type input.
* **Skills** - The skills of the candidate. This field supports `String` type input.

### Manage Properties

Use the **Manage Properties** wizard to configure or use any of the object's standard or custom fields. You can select fields to add them to the activity canvas. The added standard or custom fields are available in the **Properties** panel (in Studio Desktop) or under **Show additional properties** (in Studio Web).

### Additional properties

* **Address** - The address of the candidate. This field supports `String` type input.
* **Summary** - The summary of the candidate. This field supports `String` type input.
* **Tags** - The tags that can be associated to the candidate. This field supports `String` type input.

#### Output

* **Candidates** - Automatically generated output variable.
