Using the output dataset in AppOne

Introduction

To be able to use the data in AppOne you must export the dataset and publish AppOne with the new dataset.

Note: The steps described in this page apply to the Basic Connector and AppOne. However, exporting a dataset from other connectors and/or for other Discovery Accelerators works in the same way.

Output in dataserver update option

To export the output table to the output dataset the Output to dataserver update option must be selected in the Table Options dialog.

Step

Action

1

Go to the Data tab and right-click on the table you want to include in the output dataset.

2

Select Advanced - Options... from the context menu.

3

In the Table Options dialog make sure the option Output in dataserver update is selected.

4

Click on OK.

See illustration below.

Note: By default, this option is enabled for the output tables in the Basic Connector.

Exporting the output dataset

If you have made changes to the data in the Connector you need to create the output data set.

Follow these steps to export the output dataset from the connector.

Step

Action

1

Click on the logo icon and select Advanced - Export output dataset....

2

Enter a name for the dataset in the Export Output Dataset dialog, for example CaseandEvent_Output, and click on OK.

3

Close the Connector and open the Superadmin Development Data tab.

The output dataset is displayed in the list of development data files. It can now be used in AppOne. See illustration below.

Testing the output dataset

Before you publish AppOne with the new dataset to a production environment it is advised to open the dataset in AppOne on a test environment to check if everything is working correctly. Follow these steps.

Step

Action

1

If desired, create an environment. See Environments.

2

If you have made changes to AppOne, create a new release of AppOne. Otherwise make sure the correct version of AppOne is uploaded to the Superadmin Releases Tab.

3

Activate the release on the test environment. See Activating releases.

4

Generate a cache for the release and the dataset on the test environment. See Cache Generation.

5

Open AppOne on the test environment by selecting the Open an environment option from the Local releases menu on The Releases Tab.

Note: When you made changes to AppOne, you can also open the application as an end-user in your development environment and select the new dataset to test the new dataset. See The Development Data Tab.

Publish the new dataset

When you have tested the output dataset you can safely publish the new version of AppOne with the dataset by repeating the above steps on the environment for end-users.
