# Adding automation estimates

> The **Efficiency - Automation** dashboard enables business users to determine which events are possible candidates for automation. It displays, for example, information about the costs involved in the execution of an event which indicates the benefit of automating the event. See the illustration below.

The **Efficiency - Automation** dashboard enables business users to determine which events are possible candidates for automation. It displays, for example, information about the costs involved in the execution of an event which indicates the benefit of automating the event. See the illustration below.

## Adding Event cost and Event processing time

**Event cost** are the costs for executing the event. **Event processing time** is defined as the amount of time actually spent working for the event.
:::

Automation estimate rates in the **Efficiency - Automation** dashboard are calculated by the `Event cost` and the `Event processing time` expressions in the `Events_base` table in the Discovery Accelerator. In order to display these values in the **Efficiency - Automation** dashboard you must define the expressions used to calculate the values.
