## Adding dashboard level filters

Dashboard filters enable you to filter data from the tables before it is provided to the dashboard. With dashboard filters, you can create a subset of the data to create more specific visualizations that can be used by business users. When business users open a dashboard that contains dashboard filters, the dashboard will display data according to the filters.

When one or more filters are defined for a dashboard, the Dashboard filters icon ![Dashboard filters icon](https://dev-assets.cms.uipath.com/assets/images/process-mining/process-mining-chart-filters-icon-262047-1d01a1bc-f9111727.webp) is displayed next to the dashboard name. Business users can select the icon, to view the applied dashboard filters.
