Overview
Purposes
We process the information used with our services for the following purposes:
- Provide our services
- Machine learning, and product enhancement and development
- Develop new services
- Personalization of services and content
Provide our services
We use images, documents etc. provided in design time and/or runtime to deliver our services, such as designing and running tests, and so on.
We process telemetry data such as usage data to make sure that our platforms operate smoothly and to optimize the user experience based on the feedback and usage patterns we observe. We use data analytics to measure and evaluate the performance of our services.
We process account information such as username, password, to provide you with access to the services and to secure your account.
We may process data that you send to us for support or as necessary for troubleshooting issues, in accordance with our Support terms.
Machine learning, and product enhancement and development
We process artifacts such as images, documents sent in design time/run time to enhance and improve the products used and to train the model, so that you receive more personalized and better quality outputs. This enables us to build better services and offer more personalized experiences, such as content recommendations and improved product features. For example, by understanding how users interact with our services, we can enhance our search functionality, recommendation systems, and overall platform performance. We may use this data also to personalize the services and content we provide to you, such as tailored recommendations or suggestions based on your previous activities or preferences.
We do not use data for product improvement if you have a BAA in place. We only use data from design time for product improvement, so we recommend that you only use non-sensitive, non-personal data when designing your automation flows.
Develop new services
We use anonymized or masked data to develop and test new products and features. This helps us provide you with new platform features and product functionalities, which increase the efficiency and self-healing capacity of your automations.
Personalization of services and content
We may use the data we collect to personalize the services and content we provide to you, such as tailored recommendations or suggestions based on your previous activities or preferences.
Data Storage
Data is stored/not stored when using this product as selected by you and in accordance with our data residency page, available as part of the Automation Cloud - Data residency topic.
Integration with Generative AI services
Test Manager has some features which rely on integrations with third party Generative AI services. All such integrations are configured by the customer and go through the UiPath AI Trust Layer. This component ensures that all integrations comply with the same high level of security and compliance, and that no data is persisted by any third parties for any reason. The integrations with Generative AI features are enabled by defaul,t but they can be disabled through the AI Trust Layer as specified in the Settings for AI Trust Layer Policies topic.
Safeguards
We employ the following safeguards in achieving the purposes described above:
- Customers can delete, modify the data used with the product through application UI, as well as APIs. There are mechanisms in-place where, on request from the customer, UiPath deletes all the data associated with the customer, for example in the case of tenant decommission.
- Customers can export project data using the project export mechanism.
- Other data hygiene measures include the following:
- Test Manager masks every PII data point that is logged in telemetry.
- In order to access data from Test Manager, proper access control mechanisms are in-place. Users need to have appropriate roles and permissions in order to access data, and perform operations on data.
The opt-out mechanism
Customers can opt-out of any purpose, except the provision of service.
