The Optimize tab in Maestro lets you monitor historical executions across all agentic process versions, identify anomalies and deviations, and take action to optimize your business processes. This is all done while also highlighting opportunities for process improvement and optimization based on the process data leveraging Process Mining capabilities.

:::note
To see the data in the **Optimize** tab, the **Process Mining** service must be enabled on the same tenant as **Maestro**. Also check out [Prerequisites](https://docs.uipath.com/maestro/automation-cloud/latest/user-guide/prerequisites).
:::

You can refresh the data displayed in the **Optimize** tab at any time using the **Reload data** option in the menu bar.

:::note
The **Reload data** option is only available when there is no data load or transformation running.
:::

## Filtering data

:::note
* Filters set in the **Instance management** tab also apply to data displayed in the **Optimize** tab, and vice versa.
* Filters set in Maestro are also applied in the **Optimization** app in Process Mining, and vice versa.
:::

You can select a different period or define a custom date range using the **Date range** selector. By default, the **Optimize** tab shows data for **Last month**.

The **Status** filter allows you to filter instances by their status (active or inactive).

You can also filter by a specific automation version using the **Version** filter.

## KPIs

The KPI charts provide information on the main KPIs of the process, offering insight into overall performance. The following table describes the available KPIs.

:::tip
The default date range selected for the information in the **Optimize** dashboard is **Last month**. You can select a different period or define a custom date range using the **Date range** selector.

    KPI chart
    Description

    Number of traces
    The number of traces for the process.

    Number of variants
    The total number of process variants.

    Conformance rate
    The percentage of traces that conform to the reference model. A higher conformance rate means there is a greater degree of conformance to the reference model.
   Tip: Select the Dashboard link in the KPI card, to access the Conformance checking dashboard in Process Mining. It will open in a new browser tab. The Conformance checking dashboard contains information that will help you determine whether the process complies with the reference model. It enables you to detect inefficiencies, compliance issues, process enhancement opportunities, and discrepancies between the actual process and the reference process model. Refer to Conformance checking for more information.

    Automation rate
    The percentage of automated events in the end-to-end process.

    Average trace time
    The average time it takes to execute the trace.

## Process insights

The most significant anomalies and deviations identified for your process that may impact you KPIs are displayed in the **Process insights** section. Process insights allow you to quickly pinpoint areas that deviate from the standard process, enabling faster identification of inefficiencies, compliance risks, or potential operational issues.

Refer to [Process Insights](https://docs.uipath.com/process-mining/automation-cloud/latest/user-guide/process-insights) for more information.

## Execution details

The Execution details chart shows an execution summary of the automation, broken down by automation version and run outcome. It shows how many traces ran, how long they took on average, and whether any failed.
The following table describes the columns in the chart.

| Column name              | Description |
|--------------------------|-------------|
| Automation version | The version of the automation that was executed. A version may appear multiple times if executions have different final statuses. |
| Status | The final execution outcome of the trace. For example, Completed (finished successfully) and Cancelled (stopped before completion). |
| Number of traces | The total number of execution instances (traces) for the automation version and status. |
| Avg. trace time | The average duration of a single trace for the automation version and status. |
| Traces with failures | The number of traces that ended in a failure state. A value of 0 indicates no execution failures occurred. |

## Taking action

You can go directly to the applicable capability in the Process Optimization app in Process Mining to dive deeper into the observations from the process analytics provided in the Optimize tab. Select the **View details** option on the card to open the Process Optimization app in a new browser tab.

:::note
The **View details** option is only enabled if there is data available for the Process Optimization app.
:::

* **Compare versions**: Displays the Summary dashboard in Compare mode where you can copmare two sets of paths from your process. Refer to [Compare](https://docs.uipath.com/process-mining/automation-cloud/latest/user-guide/compare) for more information.
* **Simulate changes and measure impact**: Displays the Process simulation dashboard where you can compare the real-world behavior of your process with the modeled version, revealing inconsistencies and opportunities for improvement. Refer to [Process simulation](https://docs.uipath.com/process-mining/automation-cloud/latest/user-guide/process-simulation) for more information.
* **Monitor conformance**: Displays the **Conformance checking** dashboard that contains information that helps you determine whether the process complies with the Discover process model or the Import BPMN model. Refer to [Conformance checking](https://docs.uipath.com/process-mining/automation-cloud/latest/user-guide/conformance-checking) for more information.

:::note
Access to process optimization dashboards depends on the cloud offering you use. For details, refer to [Maestro feature availability](https://docs.uipath.com/automation-ops/automation-cloud/latest/user-guide/maestro-feature-availability).
