# TypeSafe authentication

> Connect Integration Service to the TypeSafe System One API by entering an API key from your TypeSafe account.

The TypeSafe connector authenticates with an API key. The connection sends the key to the TypeSafe API as a bearer token with every request.

## Prerequisites

- A TypeSafe API key. You can get one from the [TypeSafe console](https://console.typesafe.ai/home).

## Connection fields

| Field | Required | Description |
| --- | --- | --- |
| **API key** | Yes | The API key from your TypeSafe account, available in the [TypeSafe console](https://console.typesafe.ai/home). |

## Add the TypeSafe connection

1. Select **Orchestrator** from the product launcher.
2. Select a folder, and then navigate to the **Connections** tab.
3. Select **Add connection**.
4. To open the connection creation page, select the **TypeSafe** connector from the list. You can use the search bar to find the connector.
5. In **API key**, enter your TypeSafe API key.

   Where available, select the menu next to the field and choose **Use credential asset** or **Use Orchestrator asset** to reference an Orchestrator asset instead of entering the value directly. For more information, see [Use credential assets for connections](credential-store-connections.md).
6. Select **Connect**.
