# Act! 365 authentication

> To be able to create a connection, you need to provide the following credentials:

* **API Key**
* **Developer Key**

## Retrieve your API key

To retrieve your API key, follow these steps:

1. Access your account from the Act! 365 [sign in page](https://app.act365.com/#/login).
2. Select **Profile** from the bottom left corner.
3. Select **Apps & Integrations**.

4. Your API key is should be displayed under the **API Key:** section. In case the API key is not displayed, select the **Generate API Key** button to access the API token for your account.

## Retrieve your developer key

To retrieve your Act! 365 developer key, follow these steps:

1. Log in to your Act! 365 account to get your developer key. If you do not have an account, you need to sign up.
2. Select the **Give me my developer key now!** tab.

3. Your developer key is now displayed on the screen.

## Add the Act! 365 connection

To create a connection to your Act! 365 instance, you need to perform the following steps:

1. Select Orchestrator from the product launcher.
2. Select a folder, and then navigate to the **Connections** tab.
3. Select **Add connection**.
4. To open the connection creation page, select the connector from the list. You can use the search bar to find the connector.
5. Enter your API key and your developer key and select **Connect**.

   For any secret-type field, you can select the menu next to the field and choose **Use credential asset** to reference an Orchestrator credential asset linked to an external vault instead of entering the value directly.
