The UiPath Installation and Upgrade Guide


  1. Check the Hardware and Software requirements to make sure that your system is supported.
  2. Download the UiPath Test Manager installation kit.
  3. Double click the UiPathTestManager.msi to start the installation process.
  4. Read and accept the license agreement.
  5. Click Next. The IIS Settings step is displayed:
    • Installation Path - The local path where Test Manager is to be installed.
    • Host Name - Used to identify the device on which Test Manager is installed.
    • Port - The port you want to use for the communication between the user and Test Manager. By default, this is set to 443, to enable you to use HTTPS.
    • Add firewall rules for this port - When selected, automatically adds firewall rules for this port, to ensure your machine's security.
    • Verify port availability - If selected, the installer can check if the 443 port is available for use. If the port is not available, a message box is displayed.
    • SSL Certificate - The name of the SSL certificate you want to use to secure connections with Test Manager.
  1. Click Next. The Application Pool Settings step is displayed.
    • Identity - Enables you to choose the identity under which the Test Manager website runs. The following options are available:
      • Application Pool Identity - Runs the Test Manager website under the default identity of the application pool.
      • Specific User - Runs the Test Manager website under an existing Windows or Domain identity. Selecting this option displays two fields, Username and Password, which enable you to specify the identity under which to run.
  1. Click Next. The Database Settings step is displayed.
    • SQL Server Host - The name of the SQL Server machine. By default, this is set to localhost. If it is not the default instance, please also mention it in the MyMachine\MyInstance format.
    • Database Name - The name of the database that has to be created. Make sure that there is no database with that name already and the given user has the necessary privileges to create a new database.
    • Authentication mode - Enables you to choose the authentication mode for the Test Manager website. The following options are available:
      • Windows Integrated Authentication - This is the default option. If you select it, Test Manager connects to the database using the detected IIS Application Pool's Windows account and creates the database using the Windows credentials you are currently logged in with.
      • SQL Server Authentication - If you select this option, the SQL Username and Password fields are displayed, which have to be filled in with the SQL Server username and password.
  1. Click Next. The UiPath Identity Settings step is displayed.
    • The identity management system is administrated via UiPath Orchestrator, requiring the Orchestrator URL along with the URL of the identity management system. Fill in the credential fields with an Orchestrator tenant username and password.
    • Test Manager URL - Add the Orchestrator URL followed by port 8443. For example: https://platform.uipath.com.cn:8443.
  1. Click Next. The Installation Summary step is displayed.
  1. Double-check all the provided settings and click Install.
  2. Start the website. You can now use Test Manager.
