# AI units consumption overview

> The AI units consumption dashboard provides visibility into the usage of AI units. It offers detailed insights into how your AI units are consumed across various products, projects, and hardware.

## Overview

The AI units consumption dashboard provides visibility into the usage of AI units. It offers detailed insights into how your AI units are consumed across various products, projects, and hardware.

:::note
AI units licensing data is refreshed every four hours. Data is only available following the dashboard's release (July 2024), while the dashboard is still in public preview.
:::

:::note
For more information on Insights data retention, check the [Data retention policy](https://docs.uipath.com/insights/automation-cloud/latest/user-guide/interacting-with-insights-overview#data-retention-policy) section.
:::

:::important
While the dashboard is in public preview, the data displayed for certain features like tenant-level dashboards, or AI Center public endpoints consumption in Document Understanding, is restricted to data from the same region. Information about consumption transactions that are either missing (for example, without a job id) or from a different region, are reported as **unknown**.
:::

Inside the dashboard, there are different widgets for you to work with. For example, in the **Consumption by Product** widget a graph tracks AI units consumption per month, by different products that can be selected or excluded by selecting them.

When you select a graph, you can dive deeper into the data using one of the three available filters: by created week, created date, or created time. After choosing a filter, a larger visualization shows more detailed information by week, day, or time of creation.

If you prefer to have the data in a table format, select **Table** in the upper right corner of the visualization.

To learn how to filter or download data from a dashboard, check out [Editing filters](https://docs.uipath.com/insights/automation-cloud/latest/user-guide/dashboards#editing-filters) and [Downloading dashboards](https://docs.uipath.com/insights/automation-cloud/latest/user-guide/dashboards#downloading-dashboards).

## Prerequisites

To access the **AI units consumption overview** dashboard, a [connection](https://docs.uipath.com/document-understanding/automation-cloud/latest/user-guide/getting-started-with-insights-dashboards#enable-the-dashboard) needs to be established between Document Understanding, IXP, AI Center and Insights.

For optimal results, make sure you are using these minimum versions or higher:

* UiPath Studio and Robot: **2023.6**
* UiPath.DocumentUnderstanding.Activities package: **2.9.1**
* UiPath.DocumentUnderstanding.ML.Activities package: **1.28.2**
* UiPath.IntelligentOCR.Activities package: **6.19.1**
* UiPath.MLServices.Activities: **2.0.2**

:::note
AI units consumed by the AI Center ML skills, based on out of the box packages that are older than version 22.10, are not displayed in the dashboard. Only the AI units consumed for infrastructure are displayed. AI units used for calling skills are not tracked and therefore are not displayed in the dashboard. Note that upgrading the ML packages version also implies retraining for retrainable models.

## [Preview] Tenant level consumption

This dashboard outlines the usage pattern of AI units specific to an individual tenant.

:::note
* Dashboard data is limited to information from the same region as that of the
organization.
* Data is refreshed every 24 hours.
* The default tenant's name may be displayed as **Unknown** in the following
scenarios:
+ If the tenant was created while the organization was on the Community
plan, but it was then moved to the Enterprise plan.
+ If data pertains to a different region than that of the
organization.
+ If consumption data pertains to missing transactions, such as those with
no job ID.
* If the value for Orchestrator
folder is displayed as **Unknown**, it means that there is no related data. This could result from using an outdated Robot or activity package version, or if API Keys were used to access public endpoints, such as `du.uipath.com/invoices`.
* The dashboard displays all data from a tenant.
* The dashboard includes AI units
consumption data for Document Understanding, IXP and AI Center. For Document Understanding, the data covers both cross-platform and IntelligentOCR activities, applicable for both classic and modern projects. Data is reported for pre-trained specialized and generative models, as well as custom models.
* The dashboard displays consumption data from one of the following:
+ AI units allocated at tenant level.
+ AI units allocated at the organization level. This only applies if the
tenant has no allocated AI units, but there is an associated tenant for the consumption event. For example, the number of AI units consumed by a tenant displayed on the dashboard will match the number displayed on the organization-level dashboard.

You can choose a specific time period to review AI units usage. The default period is set at **90 days**.

    Tile
    Description

    Consumption by product
    Total number of consumed AI units distributed by product:

         AI Center
         Document Understanding
         IXP
         GenAI Activities
          Semantic Activities  (promo)

    Consumption by Orchestrator folder

Total number of consumed AI units, distributed by the Orchestrator folder the automation is run in.

:::note
* If the value is displayed as **Unknown**, it means that there is no related data. This could result from using an outdated Robot or activity package version, or if API Keys were used to access public endpoints, such as `du.uipath.com/invoices`.
* The value is displayed as **Unknown** also in the case of suspended jobs. In this case, the entry is populated after the job resumes and the automation execution finishes.
* If the value is displayed as **N/A**, this indicates that it's not applicable because the operation was carried out outside of an Orchestrator folder.

    Consumption by Orchestrator folder and product
    Total number of consumed AI units, distributed by the Orchestrator folder the automation is run in, and the product consuming these AI units.

    Consumption by automation
    Total number of consumed AI units, distributed by the automation name:

         Automation name : Process name for RPA automations or AppId for API consumption.
         AI units : Total number of consumed AI units.
         Orchestrator folder name : Orchestrator folder from which the process was run.
         Consumer tenant name : Tenant from which the request for consumption was made.
         Consumer organization ID : Organization from which the request for consumption was made.
         Consumption pool : Consumption pool from which AI units were consumed (organization or tenant).

:::note
* If the value is displayed as **Unknown**, this means that there is no data for it. One potential cause could be an older Robot or activity package version.
* If the value is displayed as **N/A**, this indicates that it's not applicable because the operation was carried out outside of an automation, Orchestrator folder.

## Organization level consumption

This dashboard displays an overview of the number AI units consumed by each tenant.

For more information on how to track the consumption at organization level, check the [Monitoring license allocation](https://docs.uipath.com/automation-cloud/automation-cloud/latest/admin-guide/monitoring-license-allocation) page from the Automation Cloud™ Admin Guide.

### Metrics

The following table describes the metrics for the **Organization level AI Unit consumption** dashboard:

| Metrics | Description |
| --- | --- |
| **Organization level consumption overview** | The total number of consumed AI Units, counted from the start date and split per tenant. |
| **Organization level API key consumption** | AI Unit consumption occuring at the organization level resulting from automations using API Keys as an authentication method. For example, this data is useful when consuming a Skill from AI Center using the Machine Learning Extractor, or classifying using the Intelligent Keyword Classifier or the Form Extractor. |
