# Disabling governance at test case log level

> Un-govern a test case log directly in Test Manager, independently of its parent test case's governance state.

You can disable governance on a test case log at any time, independently of the parent test case. Disabling governance on the parent test case does not do this for you. Once a log is governed, it is a disjoint entity from its parent, so the log's governance must be disabled directly if that is what you intend.

## Prerequisites

To disable governance on a test case log, you must hold the **Test Manager Administrator** role, the **Test Governance Administrator** role, the **Project Owner** role, or be assigned the **Test Process Governance** permission.

## Steps

1. Go to the test set execution or test case log view containing the log you want to un-govern.
2. Open the test case log.
3. Toggle off the **Governed** option for the log.

## Result

Governance is disabled for the test case log. Its existing signatures and approvers are removed, and it is no longer subject to approval requirements. This has no effect on the parent test case's own governance state, or on the log's own future re-executions, which remain ungoverned unless governance is re-enabled on the log. The **Governance** section becomes disabled. You can re-enable governance on the log and resume the governance process at any time.
