# Working with the dashboard editor

> Use the dashboard editor to create views, organize charts, and customize process app dashboards to match your business needs in Automation Suite.

## Introduction

Dashboards are used to visualize data in a meaningful way to end-users. After creating a process app, you can edit the dashboards to customize the process app to your business needs. The **dashboard editor** provides various options to create different views, and to organize, group, and filter data.

Any changes you make to the dashboards or charts are automatically saved. You can view the status of the app saving in the bar; when all your changes are saved the status is **Up to date**.

Once your changes are saved, you can safely close the dashboard editor. When you re-open the dashboard editor, you can continue working on the process app from the last saved state.

The dashboard editor enables you to collaborate with other developers on a process app. Once your changes are saved they are available for other developers working on the process app.

## Opening the dashboard editor

Follow these steps to open the dashboard editor.

1. Open the **Process Mining Portal**.
2. Go to the **Development** tab and locate the app you want to customize.
3. Select the Edit icon ![Edit icon](https://dev-assets.cms.uipath.com/assets/images/process-mining/process-mining-rename-section-icon-289309-c8e41793-c6525877.webp) in the actions column of the process app you want to customize.
4. In the menu on the left, select the dashboard you want to edit.

The dashboard editor is displayed.

The dashboard editor enables you to:

* edit the process app details.
* edit the properties dashboards and charts.
* add, hide, or delete dashboards.
* organize dashboards in sections.
* add or delete charts.
* edit the properties of individual charts.
* view the process model that is used as reference in model-based Process Mining applications using [Process models](https://docs.uipath.com/process-mining/automation-suite/2.2510/user-guide/process-manager#process-models "Select the menu in the header bar of the dashboard editor and select Process models from the drop-down menu. The Process models page is displayed, showing the preview of the Discover process model or Import BPMN model.").
* manage automations connected to Process Mining using [Automation manager](https://docs.uipath.com/process-mining/automation-suite/2.2510/user-guide/automation-manager#automation-manager "Automation manager enables you to manage automations connected to Process Mining. With Automation manager you can select Orchestrator queues to be used for automations triggered by business users from the process app.Select the menu in the header bar of the dashboard editor and select Automations from the drop-down menu. ## Editing process app details

Follow these steps to edit the process app details.

1. Select the ![Process app menu](https://dev-assets.cms.uipath.com/assets/images/process-mining/process-mining-image-129960-0d9a692d-b3b8346a.webp) icon and select and select **Settings**.
2. On the **General** tab of the **Settings** page, edit the app details.
3. Select **Save** to save your changes and close the **Settings** page.

## Editing properties for dashboards and charts

In the **Edit** panel at the right, you can edit the dashboard and chart properties to change the name of a dashboard or the title of a chart.

## Previewing changes

Before you publish any changes you have made to the process app, you can preview the changes in end-user mode. When you select the **Preview** button, the process app is displayed in end-user mode. This enables you to check any changes you made before you publish the process app.

Select **Back to edits** to close the end-user mode and to go back to the dashboard editor. If you are satisfied with the results, you can publish the process app to make the changes available to business users. ## Viewing the process app

You can open the published process app directly from the **Dashboard editor**. Follow this step to open the process app.

Open the actions menu for the app and select the **Open published app** option.

## Undo and redo changes

You can reverse or reapply your last actions or modifications in the dashboard editor. This can be helpful, for example, for correcting mistakes, experimenting with edits, or navigating back and forth through a sequence of actions made.

* **Undo:** enables you to reverse a previous change or changes made, reverting back to the state before the change was applied.
* **Redo:** enables you to reapply a change that was undone.

  The **Undo** option is enabled only when there are changes that can be reversed. The **Redo** option becomes available only after an action or change has been undone.
