# About the Agent 2 Agent activities

> Agent 2 Agent activities for Integration Service, used to call remote Agent2Agent (A2A) agents from Maestro agentic processes, and connections that also authenticate remote agents registered in Agent Gateway.

The Agent 2 Agent activities let a Maestro agentic process call a remote agent that implements the Agent2Agent (A2A) protocol. The agent then takes part in the process like any other task, and its response is available to the steps that follow.

This integration is available only for agentic processes created in UiPath [Maestro](https://docs.uipath.com/maestro/automation-cloud/latest/user-guide/introduction-to-maestro)TM. The activity runs through a specific Maestro task action:

| Activity | Maestro task action |
| --- | --- |
| [Invoke an Agent](uipath-google-agent2agent-invoke-an-agent.md) | **Start and wait for external agent** |

An Agent 2 Agent connection can also authenticate calls to a remote agent registered in Agent Gateway, without using the activity. The registered agent is then available in Maestro flows, Maestro BPMN processes, and agents built with Agent Builder. For details, refer to [Outbound (UiPath to external)](https://docs.uipath.com/orchestrator/automation-cloud/latest/user-guide/outbound-a2a).

## How it works

The activities use an authenticated connection created with the UiPath connector for Agent 2 Agent. Each connection points to one remote agent. For details, refer to the [Agent 2 Agent authentication](https://docs.uipath.com/integration-service/automation-cloud/latest/user-guide/uipath-google-agent2agent-authentication) page.

The remote agent must support the HTTP+JSON transport of the A2A protocol and publish an Agent Card. For the full list, refer to [Remote agent requirements](https://docs.uipath.com/integration-service/automation-cloud/latest/user-guide/uipath-google-agent2agent#remote-agent-requirements).
