# Configuring Redmine connection

> Set up, edit, or delete a Redmine connection to synchronize requirements and report defects between Test Manager and Redmine.

A Redmine connection synchronizes requirements from Redmine to Test Manager and lets you create Redmine defects directly from test results in Test Manager.

## Setting up a Redmine connection

Setting up the connection links your Test Manager project to your Redmine instance, using the server details, credentials, and tracker settings, to enable requirement synchronization and defect reporting.

### Context

* The name and description of an issue that you create in Redmine is synchronized as a [requirement in Test Manager](https://docs.uipath.com/test-manager/automation-cloud/latest/user-guide/requirements).
* The synchronized requirements in Test Manager are read-only aside from any attachments, objects labels or links to your test cases.
* Deletion of synchronized requirements in Test Manager is not possible.

### Prerequisites

* Redmine Cloud or Server account.
* Test Manager administrator account.
* Redmine project

### Steps

1. Log in to Test Manager as an administrator.
2. Open your project.
3. Navigate to **Project Settings** > **Integration**.
4. Select **New Connection** and select **Redmine** from the dropdown.
5. Configure the following connection settings:
 * **Name**: Enter a name for your Redmine connection.
 * **Description**(Optional): Add a description for reference.
 * **Server Url**: Add the endpoint server URL. For example: `https://company-name-redmine.azurewebsites.net`.
 * **Project Identifier**: Enter the project identifier from Redmine.
 * **User**: The username you use to authenticate to Redmine.
 * **Password**: The password you use to authenticate to Redmine.
 * **Polling interval**: Set the timeframe for fetching Defects and Requirements information through Redmine. By default, the value is set to 60 seconds. For more information on the Redmine issue tracking system, see [Redmine Trackers](https://www.redmine.org/projects/redmine/wiki/redmineissuetrackingsetup#Trackers).
 * **Fetch Trackers**: Select this option to retrieve trackers.
 * **Defect Tracker**: Set the tracker for which you want to synchronize items with Test Manager. You can choose only one option.
 * **Requirements Trackers**: Set the requirements that you want to synchronize. You can choose multiple requirements.
6. Select **Save** to confirm.
