# Create a new automation starting from a file

> Automate your document processing tasks by using the Extraction Automation Builder to create a Studio Web workflow. You only need a document to start with, then you can use the suggested, pre-configured activities.

Automate your document processing tasks by using the Extraction Automation Builder to create a Studio Web workflow. You only need a document to start with, then you can use the suggested, pre-configured activities.

Select the **Quick start in Studio** button from the main page of Document Understanding<sup>TM</sup> for Automation Cloud<sup>TM</sup> to upload a sample document to create a template automation in Studio Web.

## Initiate a new extraction automation

Perform the following steps to initiate a new extraction automation:

1. Upload a document. Once the document is uploaded, the document type is automatically detected, with a 0-100% confidence. Manually select the document type if the automatic detection was incorrect.

   Make sure that the document's format is either JPG, PDF, or PNG. The document can have a size of maximum 14 MB and 20 pages. Special characters, such as # or &, are not supported in the name of the file.

2. Expand the Optional configurations menu for advanced settings.
3. Add a custom project name and description.(optional).
4. Choose if the extracted data should be validated or not (optional).
5. Select **Create Workflow**.

You are then redirected to Studio Web, where you can further customize your workflow, or just run it to see the extracted results on the screen.

## View your automation

Once you create a new workflow, you can view it by performing the following steps:

1. Access Studio Web.
2. Select the **Projects** tab.
3. Select your automation project.

Once opened, your project should look like this:

## Run the project

You can now run your project so that data can be extracted and validated.

1. Select **Run** to run the project.
2. Open Action Center and assign the action to yourself. The running workflow is suspended until you complete the task in Action Center.
3. Select **Resume** to resume running your workflow.
4. Once completed, you can check all the extracted data in the right panel.
