# Creating defects from results

> Create a defect in your integrated external defect management system directly from a test case log.

The defect report that Test Manager creates includes the execution log, and the log links back to the defect.

## Prerequisites

* Your external defect management system is integrated with Test Manager. For more information, see [Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) tool integration](https://docs.uipath.com/test-manager/automation-cloud/latest/user-guide/about-alm-tool-connectors).

## Steps

1. Open a test case log.
2. Select **Tasks**.
3. Select **Create Defect**.

## Result

After the defect has been created, a link is available in the execution log, so you can access the integrated external tool.
