# Overview

> How IXP extraction models reach production in UiPath Maestro™ Flow, either built in an Extract node or deployed from IXP, and shipped with the Flow solution.

Model deployment makes an extraction model available to run as part of an automation.

In Maestro Flow, you can build and use a model directly in the **Extract** node, without deploying it from IXP first. To do so, add an **Extract** node with the **Extract document** option.

Adding the node also creates a new model, which you build and evaluate in the node. For details, check [Managing Extract nodes](managing-extract-nodes.md).

The IXP model of an **Extract** node is a solution resource. When you deploy the Flow solution, the model is packaged and deployed together with the rest of the solution resources. No additional manual steps are required to set up the model in the target environment.

## The model deployment process

1. Add an **Extract** node to your flow, and either build a new model or select a model deployed from IXP.
2. Validate the model performance. For details, check [Overview](overview-validation.md) in the Model evaluation section.
3. Deploy the Flow solution, together with its IXP models. For details, check [Deploying models](deploying-models.md).
4. Manage the deployed IXP models in Orchestrator. For details, check [Managing deployed models](managing-deployed-models.md).
