### Delegate and Cartographer reach General Availability

**Delegate** and **Cartographer** are now generally available. Since the August 2026 Public Preview, both have moved from "try it out" to a product you can roll out across your organization: broader extensibility, team-wide sharing, and centralized governance are now in place alongside the core experience. #### Share skills, routines, and plugins across your team

What one person builds no longer has to stay on their machine:

* **Skills and Routines** publish to a feed — your Orchestrator tenant's Libraries by default, or a shared feed spanning multiple organizations — so teammates can discover and install them. See [Sharing skills with your team](../user-guide/share-skills-with-your-team.md).
* **Plugins** bundle a set of skills, MCP servers, and credential definitions into one distributable package, publishable to Orchestrator or a shared feed. See [Extending functionality with plugins](../user-guide/extend-functionality-with-plugins.md).

#### Connect to more systems, with less setup

Beyond Integration Service connectors, Delegate & Cartographer now adds MCP servers as a first-class connection type — remote (hosted elsewhere, over HTTP) or local (running on your machine) — with an Orchestrator-backed catalog and a third-party marketplace that add most servers in one click. Custom servers outside either catalog can still be added manually. See [Configuring external tools with MCP servers](../user-guide/configure-external-tools-with-mcp-servers.md).

#### Governed and auditable from day one

Every control available to an individual user — approval mode, execution mode, screen context, blocked apps and sites, tool permissions — can also be set and locked centrally through **UiPath Automation Ops**, the same governance plane already used for the rest of your UiPath estate. Model calls route through the UiPath AI Trust Layer regardless of which model you use, so Delegate & Cartographer are covered by the same platform controls and audit trail as everything else, with no separate review process to stand up. ### An agent for your whole desktop, not one task at a time

Delegate is UiPath's general-purpose desktop AI agent: describe, say, or demonstrate a task, and it acts across your applications, files, and business systems to complete it — under the same identity, permissions, and audit controls as the rest of the UiPath Platform.

* **Cross-application tasks, handled end to end.** Ask for something that spans systems — pull a figure from a report and check the related CRM record, triage email and calendar together, draft a follow-up once the rest is done — and Delegate handles the whole chain instead of leaving you to stitch the pieces together.
* **Teach it by doing it once.** Record yourself performing a task, and Delegate turns that recording into a routine, a knowledge skill, or, with Cartographer, process documentation — useful for systems with no usable API. See [Recording your tasks](../user-guide/record-your-tasks.md).
* **Raw data becomes a finished deliverable.** Point Delegate at a spreadsheet, a database export, or a folder of files and ask for a presentation, a proposal, or a report.
* **Real interfaces, not descriptions.** For systems connected through MCP Apps, Delegate renders that system's own lists, forms, tables, and dashboards inline, with forms pre-filled — so you keep the precision of the real interface without leaving the conversation.
* **Do it once, reuse it forever.** Save any successful session as a **Routine** — run on demand with a single click, or scheduled to run on its own — and share it with your team instead of everyone rebuilding it. See [Repeating work with Routines](../user-guide/routines.md).

### Cartographer: from process knowledge to a build-ready blueprint

**Cartographer**, Delegate's specialized profile for business analysts, turns transcripts, SOPs, or recordings into a confirmed process map and a downloadable Process Design Document (PDD), then a Specification Design Document (SDD) that development teams and coding agents can build from — replacing the usual cycle of chasing down stakeholders, running interviews, and reconciling accounts by hand.

New at GA: Cartographer now also supports **business tasks** alongside full business processes. A business task captures one linear, single-owner task — from a description or a single recording — as a 5-section Task Design Document, in one session, for work that does not need the full multi-session AS-IS/TO-BE process flow. Cartographer tells you if a business task turns out to be a genuine cross-functional process, so you can switch to a full business process instead of it silently expanding scope. ### Delegate for Testing: your QA/Testing work profile

**Delegate for Testing** brings the same agent to the testing persona. It's Delegate itself, running with the **QA/Testing** work profile, serving as a testing assistant under the Test Cloud umbrella: a single natural-language prompt can retrieve test steps, execute them on the desktop, publish results to Test Manager, and send a report — cutting out the coordination and status work that usually surrounds hands-on testing. ### Delegate and Cartographer 1.6.9

Version 1.6.9 is bundled in UiPath Assistant latest build 2026.0.202 (Windows).

#### New features

- **Smart approvals**: the agent evaluates each action and asks for your confirmation only on the ones that matter.
- **Guarded mode for a project** (experimental): limits the agent to the files and folders the project allows.
- **Guided first run**: a splash screen introduces the product, asks about your work, and opens your first conversation.
- **Working offline**: the main screen stays available without a connection, and sign-in sits in the composer.
- **Cartographer document editing**: edit or refine any section of a process design document in place.
- **Cartographer on GPT-5.6 Luna**: free as a promotional offer until the end of 2026.
- **Native Background on Windows**: Delegate can run a task in the background while you keep working.
- **Diagram export**: save a diagram as a PNG image, a PDF document, or an SVG file.
- **Per-project skill control**: each project sets a skill to Always load, Load when needed, or Disable.
- **Project rules from a file**: a project keeps its own rules file, applied at the start of each session.

#### Improvements

- **Wider model choice**: Kimi K3 joins the picker, and conversations on retired Kimi models move to GPT-5.6 Luna. See [Choosing the LLM model](../user-guide/choosing-the-llm-model.md).
- **Web search**: available on every model family, with no limit on how many searches a task makes.
- **Interface language**: first-run copy and chat are translated, and generated documents follow the language you use.
- **Accessibility**: stronger contrast and keyboard access in chat, settings, and [Add-ons & Integrations](../user-guide/addons-and-integrations.md).
- **Cartographer process checklist**: each confirmed answer links back to the page it came from, and categories persist.
- **Long-running tasks**: extended work completes sooner and uses less of your quota.
- **Messages with several attachments**: a turn carrying multiple screenshots or files starts sooner.
- **Conversation title placement**: the title sits on the chat's own top row.
- **Skill updates**: the installed skill stays intact until an update completes.
- **Add-ons & Integrations**: personal connections are the default view, and localized guidance points to the current location.
- **Steadier long sessions**: extended conversations continue smoothly as they grow.
- **Questions and file previews**: multi-line questions keep their formatting, and markdown files preview in full.

#### Bug fixes

- Fixed an issue where an expired session showed a long loading state instead of returning you to the sign-in screen.
- Fixed an issue where a message the agent could not accept, due to a stalled or colliding turn, disappeared instead of staying visible with a clear reason.
- Fixed an issue in Computer Use where cancelling a task left the Office app it had opened running, with the cursor hidden.
- Fixed an issue where deleting a conversation left its messages on this machine instead of removing them.
- **Messages during an active turn**: your text is kept and queued until the current turn ends.
- **Connections after a failed load**: returning to the section retries instead of leaving Connect unavailable.
- **Recovery from a failed screen load**: the app offers a manual reload instead of retrying on its own.
- **File search reliability**: searches across your files return complete results.
- Cleared security advisories affecting bundled components, and tightened folder and service access.
- **Task Capture in more regions**: recordings start on machines reporting legacy time-zone names.
- Fixed additional stability issues across chat scrolling, layout, file handling, and plugin hooks.
