## Project compatibility

## Properties

### Common

* **DisplayName** - The name displayed for the activity in the Designer panel.

### Input

* **File** - The full path of the resource workbook. To switch to a local path, select the plus icon, and then **Use Local File**. The current field changes to **File (local path)**, where you can provide the full path of the workbook.
* **SheetName** - The name of the sheet from the workbook.
* **Range** - The range to fill, for example, `A1:B10`. This field is required.
* **Value** - The value to fill the range with. If the value starts with an equals sign (`=`), it is written as a formula. If you leave this field empty, the range is filled with blanks.

### Options

* **Password** - The password of the workbook, if necessary.

### Use Workbook

* **Workbook** - The existing workbook to use instead of a file path.

## Notes

* A value that is not a formula is converted the way Excel converts it, so a numeric fill can be used in calculations such as `SUM`. The activity tries these types in order:
  1. Boolean
  2. Number
  3. Time of day
  4. Date
  5. Text, if nothing else matches
* Numbers, times, and dates are read using the regional settings of the machine. For example, `"1,5"` is the number 1.5 on a machine that uses a comma as the decimal separator, and `"10:30"` is the time of day 10:30.
* Percentages, such as `"50%"`, and currency values, such as `"$5"`, are not converted to numbers, unlike in Excel.
* A formula is written to the first cell and filled across the range the way Excel does when you fill or copy cells. Relative references shift for each cell. For example, `=A1*2` becomes `=A2*2` in the next row.
* A whole-column or whole-row range, such as `A:A`, is limited to the used range of the sheet.
* **Range** must refer to the sheet in **SheetName**. A range that includes a sheet name, such as `Sheet2!A1:B10`, is not supported and causes an error.
