Communications Mining Automation Cloud Release Notes
Last updated Nov 19, 2024

- Generative Extraction and the
CommPath LLM that powers it are now generally available in the following regions:
US, EU and Japan.
CommPath is a proprietary fine-tuneable LLM that understands the relationships between requests and the fields required to process them, and extracts them as a structured output for automation. It significantly increases the automation rates and the value delivered from communications-based automations.
- If you are in other regions, and looking to leverage these features, you need to create an Automation Cloud tenant in one of these regions. Data residency will be in the selected region.
- Generative Extraction and CommPath allows you to extract instances of labels alongside all of the fields required to process the request linked to each label.
- It introduces Extraction fields, which are specifically linked to labels and predicted as part of individual label extractions.
- We have improved the annotation experience, explained in the Generative Extraction documentation.
- Entities have now been replaced with
fields, everywhere in the UI (existing API routes will still reference entities for
compatibility).
There are now two kinds of fields in Communications Mining:
- General Fields are the existing entities renamed to General Fields.
- The new Extraction Fields, which are all linked to specific labels, that help you automate requests linked to those labels.
- Every field has a name, and a field type, which provides the more detailed
configuration of the field, including the data type (e.g. string, or date).
- Every General Field has its own field type.
- Extraction Fields, which can repeat across many labels, can share field types between them.
- Any existing entities were automatically migrated to General Fields, with corresponding field types, and existing datasets and pinned model version will be unaffected.
- The Dataset settings page now provides a consistent user experience. It has been updated with the new dataset creation functionality. The new functionality is part of the Generative Extraction release, including creating and managing general and extraction fields, as well as their field types.
- Conversational filters are now in public preview, as part of Autopilot for Communications Mining.
- Conversational filters help you get more quickly to the answers you need. They turn natural language queries into the set of filters required to answer them. If you are unsure which filters you need to answer a question, or how to apply them correctly, this feature will automatically apply them for you.
