Reduced ArgoCD access requirements for bring-your-own ArgoCD

When you bring your own ArgoCD, the helm-credentials secret is now yours: uipathctl does not manage it and requires no access to it or to the ArgoCD namespace. The uipathadmin service account no longer needs a role or role binding for the secret or for reading the namespace - the only permission it retains there is managing ArgoCD Applications, which it already needed to deploy Automation Suite.

Bug fixes

• We fixed an issue that caused the prune-telemetry CronJob to fail on deployments that authenticate to SQL Server using Azure AD (Entra ID) Managed Identity, Default Azure credential, or Workload Identity authentication. The issue occurred due to a missing dependency in the uipathcore container image.
• An issue caused IdP-initiated SAML sign-in to fail with an "Invalid return URL" error when a Start URL was configured on the identity provider (for example, Google Workspace). We fixed the issue.
• We fixed an issue that caused the prerequisite certificate validation to incorrectly require alm.<fqdn> and monitoring.<fqdn> to be present in the certificate's SAN, even when the corresponding components were excluded using exclude_components in input.json.
• We fixed an issue where, in HA environments, the Horizontal Pod Autoscaler and the ArgoCD application controller continuously fought over a workload's replica count, causing it to repeatedly scale up and down.
• We fixed an issue where Context Grounding ingestion failed in offline (air-gapped) environments. Previously, ingestion failed for every file type, and the reported error incorrectly indicated a problem with the file contents.

Known issues

Maestro instance management page rendering issue

If Insights is enabled on the customer cluster, the Maestro instance management page does not render all information correctly unless the global.insightsRtmEnabled global feature flag is also enabled.

To enable the flag, in ArgoCD, open the Maestro application, select Details, then the PARAMETERS tab, and search for the global.insightsRtmEnabled key. Set its overridden value to true, exit the tab, and wait for ArgoCD to sync. If ArgoCD does not sync automatically, select Sync in the Maestro application.

Kerberos authentication limitations

Kerberos-based authentication is not supported for the following products and services:

• Integration Service
• Maestro
• Semantic Proxy
• Solutions

We are working on bringing Kerberos support to upcoming Automation Suite releases.

Meanwhile, you can use alternative authentication mechanisms such as basic authentication or workload identity-based authentication.

FIPS 140-2 support limitations

Insights is not supported on Automation Suite deployments that run on FIPS 140-2-enabled machines. To remain compliant with FIPS 140-2 requirements, you must disable Insights. If you need to use Insights, you can deploy it on a dedicated non-FIPS node.

MessageBus schema migration fails on databases seeded from Automation Suite 2022.10.x or earlier

When upgrading to Automation Suite 2.2510.4, the MessageBus schema migration fails if the database was originally created on Automation Suite 2022.10.x or earlier, regardless of how many versions it has been upgraded through since. Databases originally created on Automation Suite 2023.x or later are not affected.

To check whether your database is affected, run the following query:

SELECT * FROM [msgbus].[__EFMigrationsHistory] WHERE MigrationId NOT LIKE '2[0-9][0-9][0-9]%'

If the query returns any rows, delete them before upgrading:

DELETE FROM [msgbus].[__EFMigrationsHistory] WHERE MigrationId NOT LIKE '2[0-9][0-9][0-9]%'
