Starting and shutting down the cluster
Shut down and restart an Automation Suite on EKS/AKS cluster safely using maintenance mode and verify cluster health after startup.
Before shutting down the nodes, enable maintenance mode to scale down all pods and stop incoming traffic. This ensures a graceful shutdown of the Automation Suite on EKS/AKS cluster.
Shutting down the cluster
To shut down the cluster, take the following steps:
-
Enable maintenance mode to scale down all pods and stop incoming traffic:
uipathctl cluster maintenance enableuipathctl cluster maintenance enableThe following output confirms that maintenance mode was successfully enabled:
Successfully enabled maintenance modeSuccessfully enabled maintenance mode -
Verify that maintenance mode is enabled:
uipathctl cluster maintenance is-enableduipathctl cluster maintenance is-enabledThe following output confirms maintenance mode is active:
Maintenance mode is enabledMaintenance mode is enabled -
Shut down the cluster nodes.
Result
All pods are scaled down and the cluster nodes are shut down safely.
Starting the cluster
To start the cluster, take the following steps:
-
Start the cluster nodes.
-
Disable maintenance mode to restore cluster services and allow incoming traffic:
uipathctl cluster maintenance disableuipathctl cluster maintenance disableThe following output confirms that maintenance mode was successfully disabled:
Successfully disabled maintenance modeSuccessfully disabled maintenance mode -
Run a health check to verify that Automation Suite and all enabled products are running:
uipathctl health check --namespace <uipath> --versions versions.jsonuipathctl health check --namespace <uipath> --versions versions.json
Result
Automation Suite and all enabled products are running and healthy.
