UiPath® Automation Ops™ is a centralized, web-based platform that enables administrators to configure and deploy governance
policies for UiPath® Studio, UiPath® Robot, and UiPath® Assistant. This on-premises release is delivered using the [Automation Suite](https://docs.uipath.com/automation-suite/docs) deployment model.

Governance policies offer control over various functionalities, ensure that standards are met and that rules are followed.
Main features include:

* **For StudioX, Studio, and Studio Pro:**

  + Control which [package sources](https://docs.uipath.com/automation-ops/automation-suite/2024.10/user-guide/settings-for-studio-policies#manage-sources) are available in the Studio package manager.
  + Enforce organizational development standards using [Workflow Analyzer](https://docs.uipath.com/automation-ops/automation-suite/2024.10/user-guide/settings-for-studio-policies#workflow-analyzer) rules. For example, you can determine which applications and URLs users are allowed to automate.
  + Enforce Studio [design](https://docs.uipath.com/automation-ops/automation-suite/2024.10/user-guide/settings-for-studio-policies#design) and [location](https://docs.uipath.com/automation-ops/automation-suite/2024.10/user-guide/settings-for-studio-policies#location) settings. For example, you can require that projects pass workflow analysis before being run or published.
  + Enable the [collection of Studio usage data](https://docs.uipath.com/automation-ops/automation-suite/2024.10/user-guide/settings-for-studio-policies#feature-toggles) in your organization's Application Insights instance in Azure.
  + Control [what repositories are allowed](https://docs.uipath.com/automation-ops/automation-suite/2024.10/user-guide/settings-for-studio-policies#team) when working with GIT source control.
  + Prevent production runs from StudioX by [limiting the number of consecutive executions](https://docs.uipath.com/automation-ops/automation-suite/2024.10/user-guide/settings-for-studio-policies#feature-toggles) that can be initiated from StudioX for projects with no changes.
  + Control [what activities are available](https://docs.uipath.com/automation-ops/automation-suite/2024.10/user-guide/settings-for-studio-policies#feature-toggles) in StudioX.
* **For Robot:**

  + Control the behavior of the Robot at runtime by enforcing [Runtime Analyzer rules](https://docs.uipath.com/automation-ops/automation-suite/2024.10/user-guide/settings-for-robot-policies) to prevent sending emails to certain addresses or using certain applications and web pages in automations.
* **For Assistant:**

  + Manage access to [widgets](https://docs.uipath.com/automation-ops/automation-suite/2024.10/user-guide/settings-for-assistant-policies) in UiPath® Assistant.

Automation Ops™ is flexible and easy to use, enabling you to quickly govern large deployments:

1. Select the [policy templates](https://docs.uipath.com/automation-ops/automation-suite/2024.10/user-guide/manage-policy-templates#select-policy-templates) to use depending on the product versions installed in your organization.
2. [Create policies](https://docs.uipath.com/automation-ops/automation-suite/2024.10/user-guide/create-a-governance-policy#create-a-governance-policy) for the products you want to govern.

   If your organization is already using the file-based governance model for Studio, you can migrate your policies by [generating files from Studio](https://docs.uipath.com/automation-ops/automation-suite/2024.10/user-guide/create-a-governance-policy#generate-governance-files-from-studio) and uploading them in Automation Ops™.
3. [Deploy policies](https://docs.uipath.com/automation-ops/automation-suite/2024.10/user-guide/deploy-governance-policies-top#deploy-governance-policies-deploy-governance-policies) at tenant, group, or user level, and any combination thereof.

:::important
If you were previously using file-based governance, when you visit the Deployment page for the first time, Automation Ops™
overwrites any existing file-based governance in your environment.

As it is expected that any file-based governance to no longer apply, make sure you import your already existing policies to
Automation Ops™ and deploy them from here.
:::

Automation Ops™ is compatible with Studio 2020.10.3 and later, Robot 2021.10 and later, and Assistant 2021.4 and later. Users
must be connected to Orchestrator using [interactive sign-in](https://docs.uipath.com/robot/docs/setting-up-interactive-sign-in).
