# Move File or Folder

`UiPath.FTP.Activities.MoveItem`

## Description

Moves an item on an FTP server to a different remote path. This activity only works if it is placed inside a [With FTP Session](https://docs.uipath.com/activities/other/latest/workflow/with-ftp-session) scope activity.

## Windows - Legacy configuration

**Designer panel**
* **File or folder to move** - The remote path on the FTP server where the file is currently located. This field supports only `String` variables.
* **Where to move** - The remote path on the FTP server where the file is to be moved. This field supports only `String` variables.

**Properties panel**

#### Common

* **Continue On Error** - This field only supports boolean values (**True**, **False**). The default value is **False**. As a result, if this field is blank and an error is thrown, the execution of the project stops. If the value is set to **True**, the execution of the project continues regardless of any error.
* **DisplayName** - The display name of the activity. This field supports only `String` variables.

#### Input

* **File or folder to move** - The remote path on the FTP server where the file is currently located. This field supports only `String` variables.
* **Where to move** - The remote path on the FTP server where the file is to be moved. This field supports only `String` variables.

#### Misc

* **Private** - If selected, the values of variables and arguments are no longer logged at Verbose level.

#### Options

* **Overwrite** - If this box is checked, the files are overwritten in the new remote directory if they are already stored there.

* **Continue On Error** - This field only supports boolean values (**True**, **False**). The default value is **False**. As a result, if this field is blank and an error is thrown, the execution of the project stops. If the value is set to **True**, the execution of the project continues regardless of any error.
