# Refresh Pivot Table

`UiPath.Excel.Activities.Business.RefreshPivotTableX`

Updates the data for a pivot table. Use this activity when the source data for a pivot table has changed. The activity can be used with an Excel file selected for a parent [Use Excel File](https://docs.uipath.com/activities/other/latest/productivity/excel-application-card) activity or with the Project Notebook.

## Configuring the activity

#### In the body of the activity

* **Pivot table to refresh** - The pivot table whose data to update.
  + To refresh a specific pivot table, select it using the **Plus**   menu.
  + To refresh all the pivot tables in a workbook, select the Excel file from the **Plus**   menu, and then select **All Pivot Tables**.

#### Properties panel

**Common**

* **DisplayName** - The name displayed for the activity in the Designer panel.

**Input**

* **Layout** - Enhances the pivot table layout and format. The **compact** form optimizes for readability while the **tabular** and **outline** forms include file headers. The default value is **null**.

**Misc**

* **Private** - If selected, the values of variables and arguments are no longer logged at Verbose level.
